The Slavs Project: Post-socialism’s Horizon of Loss

The Slavs Project:
Post-socialism’s Horizon of Loss

“Loss” means the mourning and melancholia caused by the absence of social welfare, collective memory, sense of direction, voice and power after the drastic changes in Eastern Europe.Through 30 years’ revolution, the slavic nations swinging between East and West remains in limbo. The past history and uncertain memory are ghosting at the moment.
Due to the barrier of identity and language, I, as an “otherness”, have wandered around and photographed Moscow, Kyiv, Minsk, Belgrade, these four cities from July 2018 to January 2020.
